Before surgery, being in a crate can helpcalm the furry friend down, while limiting movement so they don’t make an injury worse. Crates are also used to provide a space to hold pets as they await to be spayed or neutered.

This allows them to live comfortable in ahome and not at a noisy shelter as they wait. The crate provides a place where they cuddle in and get cozy and can call a safe place. For many pets, a crate helps with the transition from place to place and helps them acclimate to each new environment. In foster homes, it can also help with crate training so the pet is ready when they move on to their forever home.

Some crates will will be used on Good Flights to transport pets from shelter to shelter so they have a better chance of finding their forever home. In some cases crates will be used on Good Flights to help pets, with no owners, to escape natural disasters.
